Debbi is drawn to the stories hidden in ordinary, unexpected, and often discarded materials. Through printmaking and interactive artist books, she explores how we assign value—to objects, places, materials, and to one another.
Her work centers on three recurring themes: community, transformation over time, and the mystery of the natural world. These ideas often overlap and weave together, reflecting the connections between people, places, and the things we leave behind.
At the heart of her practice is a fascination with the book form. She enjoys playing with the balance between the familiar structure of a traditional book and the possibilities that emerge when it is made from recycled, repurposed, or unconventional materials. Her prints range from simple, graphic shapes to layered imagery that creates movement, depth, and a sense of discovery.
Whether through sculptural books, bright colors, or materials with a past life, Debbi's work invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and find meaning in the everyday.
